    • The last date to apply for the Tuition Credit Opportunity from dropped Fall/Winter 2017-2018 and Winter 2018 courses is Wednesday, January 16.

Careers Support

  • Winter Career Fairchange of location: Meet a variety of employers to learn about career opportunities on Thursday, January 17, 10am to 3pm in the Victor Philip Dahdaleh Building. Be sure to check out the full list of 80+ employers and their profiles to learn about positions they’re recruiting for and how to apply.

  • Panel Discussion: Strategies for Getting Hired within the Federal Government. Thursday, January 17, 1 to 3pm, Second Student Centre. Speak with representatives from the Federal Government about careers in a variety of departments and get tips on how to apply. The Federal Government has posted several job opportunities on the Career Centre’s website to apply by Jan 18. Selected Candidates will be invited to an exclusive Speed Staffing Event for an interview for job offers on the spot!

  • Workshop: Rapid Resume Review (RRR) at the Learning Commons. Bring a print-out of your resume to review together with one of our friendly Career Peer Educators! Tuesday, January 15, 11am to 1pm, Learning Commons (2nd floor of Scott Library)

Money Matters

  • Earn cash while you learn! Apply to participate in the Finesse Your Finances Workshop Series and Research Study. You will build your money management skills, set personal goals, develop your own plan for success, build your own ability to problem solve through hurdles and build momentum. Space is limited.

  • The men’s hockey team will be hosting the Western Mustangs on Friday, January 18, 7pm, Canlan Ice Sports.

  • The women’s and men’s volleyball teams will be taking on the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, January 18, 6pm and 8pm, Tait McKenzie Centre.

International Connections

  • Living in Canada Session: Banking in Canada. York International presents an informative and fun workshop about how to manage your finances while in Canada. Tuesday, January 15, 12:30 to 1:30pm, 242 York Lanes.

  • Is there a staff member that has gone above and beyond to help you succeed? If you have not already done so, nominate a staff member you know who is making an important impact at York for the President’s 2018 Staff Recognition Awards. Nominations close on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

  • York’s Mental Health & Wellness Student Initiative Fund supports innovative and inclusive student-led initiatives through $1000 grants to five registered student clubs to support an initiative that fosters positive mental health and well-being among York students. Completed applications are due on Thursday, January 24.
