Academics

  • The inaugural Experiential Education (EE) Symposium showcases experiential education at York and celebrates the achievements of students and faculty who have participated in EE. Tuesday, January 22, 1pm to 4pm, Scott Library Collaboratory (2nd floor).

  • Event Series: How to Prepare for Grad Studies at York. Thinking about graduate studies at York in Fall 2020 or beyond? Health & Wellness

  • York’s Mental Health & Wellness Student Initiative Fund supports innovative and inclusive student-led initiatives through $1000 grants to five registered student clubs to support an initiative that fosters positive mental health and well-being among York students. Completed applications are due on Thursday, January 24.

  • We invite you to participate in the York University MoodCheck Challenge! The goal is to increase mindfulness on campus by using WellTrack’s MoodCheck tool. Download WellTrack in your device app store and create an account using @my.yorku.ca email or access code YORK.

Out & About On Campus

  • Register today for York’s 10th Annual Inclusion Day commemoration on Thursday, January 24, 2019, 11:15am to 1pm in the Second Student Centre. This event kicks off our 60th anniversary celebrations by bringing together four global leaders from higher Ed, business, public policy and the arts, to engage the critical concept of inclusion as a driver of innovation. Free admission. Space is limited.

  • Art Exhibition: Just the Wind is a mixed-media exhibition featuring works from third-year Visual Art Studio students Ellen Soule and Liv Paul in the Special Project Gallery in the Joan and Martin Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts. The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm until Thursday, January 31.

  • Theatre @ York presents Middletown by Will Eno, featuring the acting students in the MFA program. Admission is free, but space is limited. The Foster Studio, #207 Accolade East Building, Thursday, January 24, 7:30pm, Friday January 25, 2pm and 7:30pm, and Saturday January 26, 2pm.

Athletics & Recreation

  • Athletics and Recreation is doing their part to help end the stigma around mental health by hosting a Bell Let’s Talk event as the women’s hockey team takes on the Queen’s Golden Gaels this Saturday, January 26, 2pm at Canlan Ice Sports.

  • The women’s and men’s basketball teams will be taking on the Laurentian Voyageurs in the School Day Game this Friday, January 25, 11am and 1pm, Tait McKenzie Centre. If you have some time between classes, be sure to check it out!

  • The men’s hockey team will be facing the Waterloo Warriors this Friday, January 25, 7pm, Canlan Ice Sports.

  • The women’s and men’s basketball teams will be facing the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, January 26, 6pm and 8pm, Tait McKenzie Centre

  • The women’s hockey team is set to take on the UOIT Ridgebacks on Sunday, January 27, 2pm, Canlan Ice Sports.
