Out & About On Campus

  • Submit a proposal to present at the 10th Annual Peer Leader Conference. This year’s theme is Fostering Inclusive Leadership and will include a prize raffle as well as feature a keynote address from Joseph Smith, Co-Creator of Non-Profit "Generation Chosen.” Deadline for submission: Friday, March 29. Health & Wellness

  • Were you selected to participate in the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) survey? Fill it out and help York develop spaces like The Wellness Hub.

  • Have your say about smoking on campus! Complete the survey and provide your input before the survey closes on Monday, April 1.

  • Workshop: Sleep – For Better Health. Understand the four sleep stages and how sleep contributes to overall academic success. Thursday, March 21 and Thursday, March 26, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sound & Moving Images Library (SMIL), Room 124 Scott Library. No registration required.

  • The Jack.org Mental Health Symposium is a free event that aims to empower and educate students to lead a “mental health revolution” through unique workshops and speaker presentations. Students who attend at least two events of the Symposium can win one of three $25 Cineplex gift cards. Registration Required. Tuesday, March 19, 2 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., 152 Founders College.

  • Workshop: Stress Management Workshop. The Autism Mentorship Program is hosting a workshop followed by free pizza and a game night for students who self-identify as being on the Autism Spectrum. Students are welcome to join the workshop at any point and it is open to all York and Seneca@York students. Friday, March 22, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Behavioural Science Building, Room 164.   • Show your #YUSpirit on Red & White Day. This is an opportunity to celebrate our community and York’s sixtieth anniversary! Get involved in Red & White Day at the Keele and Glendon campuses by wearing red and white or York gear or by playing games at the indoor carnival.   • Tax Filing for International Students General Information Session. Find out more about the process of filing your taxes, what the benefits of filing your taxes are and why you need to file your taxes. Monday, March 18, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 280N York Lanes.

  • Tax Filing Appointments for International Students. As an international student in Canada, you can file your taxes or take advantage of certain tax credits. North York Community House (NYCH) will offer on-campus tax filing for international students. March 18, 20, 21, 25 and 27, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (20-minute slots), 242 York Lanes.
