Trans Awareness Week at York U. The Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education and Student Counselling & Development (SCD) will be hosting Trans Awareness Week at York U from November 16 to 20 in support of our Trans, Queer and Gender Non-Conforming community. The Centre and SCD will be hosting events and workshops throughout the week. Keep checking the webpage for updates as we get closer to the date.
Transgender Day of Remembrance Virtual Event: Join the Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion for a free, virtual event featuring the perspectives of incredible Trans and allied community members. Transgender Day of Remembrance has been observed annually as a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. This event is open to all faculty, staff and students in the York Community. Friday, November 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration required.
A Message from President Lenton on the Appointment of Maureen Armstrong as Ombudsperson: “President Rhonda Lenton has announced the appointment of Maureen Armstrong as the University’s new Ombudsperson. The University Ombudsperson provides an impartial and confidential service to York students, faculty and staff who have been unable to resolve their concerns about the application of York University policies, procedures and or practices.” Read the full announcement.
Markham Centre Campus (MCC) Virtual Town Hall. Join President Lenton and other York senior leaders in this Virtual Town Hall and learn about the latest updates on our plans for the MCC. This town hall will also give students an opportunity to ask questions about the University’s plans. We encourage you to submit questions in advance of the event using this question submission form.
