Important Dates

    • The last day of exams is Thursday, Dec. 23.
    • The University is CLOSED from Friday, Dec. 24 to Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. Administrative offices will reopen Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 and most Winter term classes resume Monday, Jan. 10, 2022. For exceptions, visit Important Dates.
    • Fees for Winter undergraduate course enrolments for Year (Y) and Winter (W) courses are due Monday, Jan. 10, 2022.

Announcement

  • End of Term and Holiday Closure Plans. In light of recent guidance issued by the Ontario Government aimed at limiting the spread of the Omicron variant, York will be reducing on-campus activities in December and into January.

    The Winter 2022 academic term will commence as planned on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 (with some exceptions, for example Osgoode Hall Law School); however the in-person delivery of courses and on-campus activities are planned to resume on Monday, Jan. 24, 2022.

    Between Jan. 10 and Jan. 24, 2022, all classes and support services will be delivered in a remote format unless it is essential that they be delivered in person.

Welcome Back

  • Winter Orientation. New students will receive tips, tricks and resources during Winter Orientation on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022. Visit York's Orientation page to register for each session.

    An additional orientation session for international students will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022. To register, visit the International Student Orientation page.

ICYMI

  • YU Screen. For the Winter 2022 term, all York students are required to disclose their vaccination status on regardless of your current location and whether or not you are seeking access to the campus. Disclosure of vaccination status includes unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, fully vaccinated or seeking an exemption from vaccination.

    If you have already disclosed your vaccination status and provided proof of vaccination, thank you. If you have not, please do so as soon as possible.

    Note: York Region residents looking to access COVID-19 vaccination appointments may book York Region Transit’s Mobility On-Request ride-sharing services. More details can be found on York Region Transit’s website.

    • keep.meSAFE is a mental wellness student support program that lets you call or chat with a counsellor any time of the day or night from anywhere in the world. Access real-time help and self-help resources, articles, videos and other assessment tools.
    • The Big White Wall is a free online mental health and well-being service offering self-guided programs and creative outlets to anonymously express yourself, connect and learn.
    • BounceBack Ontario is a free program that offers telephone coaching sessions and online videos to help you build skills to overcome mild-to-moderate anxiety or depression and regain positive mental health.

Learning Skills

  • Zoom/eClass Student Tutorial. Learn the ins and outs of Zoom and eClass to prepare for any virtual classes you may have this year! Students will learn how to set up breakout rooms on Zoom, learn to navigate eClass, attend a mock lecture to practice your skills and more! Registration required. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

Worth Repeating

  • UIT Maintenance Announcement. On Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, YUScreen will undergo maintenance at 9 p.m. for approximately two hours. During this time, YUScreen will not be available. For details of other upcoming UIT service interruptions, visit the UIT page.
