  • Help your fellow students and be paid to do it! York’s Care Ambassadors Program is hiring students to work alongside faculty and staff to help transition everyone safely return to our Keele and Glendon campuses. Students will be hired for over six weeks for one to four hour shifts (Monday, Jan. 10 to Friday, Feb. 18). Roles will be paid at $15 per hour with flexible scheduling. Applications will be accepted through the Care Ambassador Interest Form.

Connect with Community

  • Workshop on Human Rights and the Environment. This session will look at how human rights intersect with our environment in the context of climate change. Join a conversation, co-hosted by the Office of the College Head, McLaughlin College, and Human Rights Watch (HRW), about HRW's recent work to document how climate change is already impacting human rights in Canada and how they use digital advocacy to spread the word. Thursday, Dec. 9, 5 to 6 p.m. Registration required.

  • Go Global SDGs in Action Program is hosting information sessions starting this week for all students passionate about sustainability and reducing inequalities! Join these sessions to find out how you can learn more about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, lead your own action project and receive up to $8,000 to support you in studying, researching, or working in the communities of your own SDG project. Application deadline Friday, Dec. 17. Registration required. Information sessions will run until the day before.

  • 2021 Vico Lecture Marx & Vico: Comparing two interpretations of history. The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies is back with the Vico Lecture with leading Marx scholar and York faculty member Dr. Marcello Musto. This special talk will compare the thinking of two giant social theorists: Giambattista Vico and Karl Marx. Friday, Dec. 10, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • ITE York U Chapter invites you to the Bikes in Toronto Seminar. A recent study by Deloitte highlighted the important role that bicycles will play to ease traffic congestion, improve urban air quality, and public health. Join the seminar to learn about projects that are promoting the use of bicycles in Toronto. Friday, Dec. 10, 5 to 6 p.m. Registration required.

ICYMI

  • eClass is moving. To improve the reliability of eClass, University Information Technology (UIT) will be moving the platform on December 29, to a fully managed cloud solution. The move will not affect the functioning of eClass.
