  • Virtual Student Town Hall. The Student Town Hall is an opportunity for you to ask questions and hear answers about the University’s evolving response to COVID-19 and how that may impact your programs and courses. It will be a space for you to hear from York’s senior leaders and for you to catch up on items and updates before the Summer and Fall 2021 terms. Wednesday, April 14, 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.

  • Student Service Experience Survey. Take a five-minute break from studying to help York understand how to improve student services. Fill out this survey and provide your feedback on any student service you have used in your time at York, such as academic advising, financial aid, career development and learning skills. Survey deadline: Friday, April 16.

  • Live Cooking Class: Update Your Salads. Join a Precision Nutrition food coach as she takes you through recipes, chats about the health benefits of the food you are making and much more! in this class, you'll learn to give your weekly menu a boost with some great salad recipes. Tuesday, April 13, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Speed Baking Workshop. During this workshop you will learn how to bake your own cookies from scratch. Take a break, decompress and learn how to make delicious cookies that are sure to stimulate your taste buds!   • SWE Speaks: Navigating the Evolving, Interdisciplinary Field of Bioengineering. Join this lively panel discussion with experts shaping the industry of biomedical engineering and biotechnology in a variety of ways. The five panelists will share their experiences in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biochemistry and biomedical engineering. Wednesday, April 14, 6 to 8 p.m. Registration required.

  • Thriving in and Beyond the Classroom featuring Katina Rogers, PhD. In this talk hosted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Rogers will discuss how building a university that is truly worth fighting for means thinking more expansively about what constitutes scholarly success—not only to support individual career pathways, but also to work toward greater equity and inclusion. Wednesday, April 14, 12:30 to 2 p.m. Registration required.

  • What's new with SAVY? SAVY has been updated once again to answer more of your questions. In addition to the already 1,100+ answers already built into SAVY, you can now ask it questions about online learning resources, staying motivated, getting a tutor, navigating YU Hire to get a job on campus, connecting with University departments for course issues, what SAVY knows about you when you log in, and SAVY’s favourite York memories. Don’t forget that you can troubleshoot technical issues during your exams with SAVY, too!

  • Careers Workshop: Personality & Career Choice. Join this webinar and get an introduction to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, one of the most widely used career assessment tools. You will discover how learning about your personality type can help guide you with your career decision-making. Thursday, April 15, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required on Experience York.

  • Workshop: Resumé & Cover Letter Writing. Attend this session and find out how to effectively target your resumé and cover letter. Present your experiences, education and skills in a way that showcases your assets and piques employers' interest in you. Tuesday, April 20, 10 a.m. to noon. Registration required on Experience York.

YI’s daily Virtual Coffee Breaks are an online space for international and domestic students from across programs, Faculties, countries and cultures to connect and get to know each other! Student Leaders are on Zoom every weekday with different fun and interesting topics. When you sign up, a confirmation email with the zoom link will be sent to you upon registration.
