UIT Announcement: The UIT Network team will be upgrading the data centre network from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 7, to 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. This maintenance will enhance the performance and reliability of many systems and applications at York. During this maintenance period, there will be intermittent outages that could last up to 60 minutes for many services, including the University's main website and eClass.
Earth Week 2021. Join the rest of the York community in creating sustainable change. Attend one of this week's events as part of a larger Global movement to celebrate Earth Day this Thursday, April 22. You can also join the York conversation by using the hashtag #YUEarthWeek and the larger conversation by using the hashtag #EarthDay.
The Plastic Pick-up Challenge. If you can take a break from studying this week, participate in this challenge to get outside and pick up plastic/waste in your local neighborhood, park, trails, or beach. Take a picture and post it on social media with the hashtags #YUEarthWeek & #PlasticPickupChallenge.
Scholars' Hub @ Home - How ecological footprint accounting can inform pathways to a carbon-neutral economy. Attend this session and learn about the global ecological footprint and biocapacity accounts that are produced at York in collaboration with researchers around the world. Environmental Studies PhD Research Day 2021. Log into the annual PhD Research Day and celebrate many of the outstanding research projects happening in the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change. Film Screening & Panel Discussion: The Secret Marathon. Log in to watch The Secret Marathon, a film inspired by Zainab, the first Afghan woman who ran in the Marathon of Afghanistan. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on sport and development. This event is presented by the York Centre for Asian Research and the School of Kinesiology and Health Science at York. The Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (REI) will be offering REDI series workshops and Anti-Racism REDI series workshops all summer long. All sessions will be offered virtually, are free and open to all York students. Attend at least three of the REDI workshops (90 minutes each) and complete the REDI Online Tutorial to receive a REDI Certificate of Completion!
