Announcement

  • UIT Announcement: The UIT Network team will be upgrading the data centre network from 10 p.m. on Friday, May 7, to 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. This maintenance will enhance the performance and reliability of many systems and applications at York. During this maintenance period, there will be intermittent outages that could last up to 60 minutes for many services, including the University's main website and eClass.

  • Register for this year's Women & Girls Leadership & Sport Conference (WGLSC), which is back (virtually) for 2021 on Friday, April 30. Athletics & Recreation invites you to join the conversation, learn and help empower the #leadhers of tomorrow!

  • Career Centre Webinar: On the Job SuccessAttend this session and learn tips to create a great first impression and what to expect the first few days on the job. You'll also learn how to increase your chances of workplace success, how to communicate assertively and handle difficult situations effectively. Wednesday, April 28, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required.

  • Webinar: Ways to Make Money While Studying. Join this session and learn some ways to make money and gain experience while you're a student. Learn strategies for how to find great opportunities through a variety of sources for on- or off-campus employment and understand how to tap into the "hidden" job market. Thursday, April 29, 10 to 11 a.m. Registration required.

Health & Wellness

  • Mindful Meditation Session. Take a break and join these relaxing meditation sessions facilitated by Psychologist Scott Pope from Student Counselling, Health & Well-being. These sessions will help you to de-stress, decrease loneliness and increase positivity. Thursday, April 29, 1 to 1:45 p.m. Drop-Ins welcome!

Connect with Community

  • Student SDG Design JamAre you a student with ideas on how to make York more sustainable and aligned with its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Log in and join the SDG Design Jam, an interactive, co-creative space where you can share these ideas with the community and have your voices be heard! Saturday, May 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration required.

  • The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (REI) will be offering REDI series workshops and Anti-Racism REDI series workshops all summer long. All sessions will be offered virtually, are free and open to all York students. Attend at least three of the REDI workshops (90 minutes each) and complete the REDI Online Tutorial to receive a REDI Certificate of Completion!   • Webinar: Dialogue on Disability Disclosure in the Workplace for Students with Disabilities. Do you have questions regarding whether or not you should disclose your disability to an employer? If you decide to disclose your disability, do you wonder when and how to do it? In this webinar, learn tips and suggestions regarding timing and method(s) of disclosure and discuss your questions and concerns regarding disclosure at the workplace. Monday, May 3, 2 to 3 p.m. Registration required.

  • Webinar: Resumé & Cover Letter Writing For Students with Disabilities. In this session delivered by Career Education & Development in partnership with Student Accessibility Services, log in and find out how to effectively target your resumé and cover letter. Learn how to present your experiences, education and skills in a way that showcases your assets and piques employers’ interest in you. Tuesday, May 4, 10 a.m. to noon. Registration required.

  • Student Accessibility Services continues to meet with students virtually! Students already registered with Student Accessibility Services can connect with their Accessibility Counsellor by email or via sasinfo@yorku.ca.

Learning Skills

  • Webinar: Zoom/eClass Student Tutorial. All students are welcome to join this session and learn the ins and outs of Zoom and eClass in preparation for your virtual classes this Winter. These sessions will cover York's primary online learning platforms. You'll learn some key information as well as tips and strategies from senior students on Zoom lectures, breakout rooms, online testing evaluations and more! Tuesday, May 4, noon to 1:30 p.m. Registration required.

International Connections

  • International Student Virtual Orientation. York International (YI) can't wait to meet the next group of York Lions from all over the world joining this summer's international student orientation sessions! During these sessions you'll get the chance to meet other new students from around the world, learn about York International and all the student services York offers to help support your success as a student including immigration services, academic advising, library services, health & wellness, and more! Two dates to choose from:
