Announcement

  • Top 12 Ways York is Welcoming YU Back. With more in-person learning expected on campus this fall, York is getting ready to welcome you back safely. We all have a role to play in supporting a community of care and protecting ourselves and each other as we return to campus, so it’s important to follow the latest public health guidance as we continue to plan. Take some time to read about the changes that have been made to welcome you back safely on York’s campuses.

  • The Welcoming YU Back Roadmap aims to offer clear and transparent direction for the upcoming academic year. The Roadmap identifies the anticipated levels of reopening for in-person and on-campus activities at York. Continue to check the roadmap as we get closer to the Fall term.

  • The Health & Wellness Student Needs Assessment Survey is here! Complete this survey from Student Counselling, Health & Well-being to influence how health and well-being services are delivered to York students. Students who complete the survey will be entered to win one of 40 $50 gift cards! Survey Deadline: Thursday, August 5.

  • York 101 Video: Funds for Your Finances. Tune into the second episode of the #YORK101 series — the series that will be giving you all the York University know-how! In this episode, you'll learn all about OSAP, scholarships & bursaries and on-campus jobs! Check the Student Life YU YouTube channel every Tuesday this Summer where they'll discuss new topics each week!

Learning Skills

  • Learning Skills Workshop: Presentation Skills. This workshop is designed to help you master the challenges of effectively developing and delivering your academic work to others. Tuesday, June 29, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Workshop: Time Management. Join this session to learn practical, personalized approaches to managing your time. Get tips to manage and balance school, work and life. Wednesday, June 30, 3 to 4 p.m. Registration required.

Health & Wellness

  • The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (REI) will be offering REDI series workshops and Anti-Racism REDI series workshops all summer long. All sessions will be offered virtually and are free and open to all York students. Attend at least three of the REDI workshops (90 minutes each) and complete the REDI Online Tutorial to receive a REDI Certificate of Completion! Connect with Community

  • Academic Integrity and Universal Design. In this workshop, you'll develop an understanding of universal design and academic integrity in an educational environment and consider the ways universal design can become part of a teaching strategy. Tuesday, June 29, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Leadership Workshop: Motivation and Productivity: Being Present with Yourself and Others. In this workshop, you'll explore the relationship between motivation and productivity, and what to do when you feel either of those slipping. Learn ways to motivate yourself and others towards achieving both short- and long-term goals. Wednesday, June 30, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Workshop: Strategic Thinking & Leadership. When leading a team, you must be open to the perspectives of others. In this workshop, you'll learn how to lead a team to work towards a common goal. Monday, July 5, 1 to 2 p.m. Registration required.

  • Student Accessibility Services Information Session. Do you want to know what academic accommodations can be put in place for students with disabilities and how to access these supports? Join this session and learn more about Student Accessibility Services and accessing disability-related academic accommodations at York. Monday, July 5, noon to 1 p.m. Registration required.

International Connections

  • York International Workshop: Study Permit Extension Workshop. In this workshop, York International's licensed immigration specialists will guide you through the process of creating an IRCC online account, discuss the documents required for a study permit extension and address frequently asked questions. Tuesday, July 6, 9 to 11 a.m. Registration required.

  • Careers Workshop: Personality & Career Choice. This webinar will introduce the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator, one of the most widely used career assessment tools.
