Announcement

  • Construction Notice. The City of Toronto will be installing multi-use pathways and dedicated bikeways along the following:

    • Murray Ross Parkway from Evelyn Wiggins Drive to Keele Street
    • Keele Street from Murray Ross Parkway to Four Winds Drive
    • Evelyn Wiggins Drive from Assiniboine Road to Murray Ross Parkway
    • Murray Ross Parkway from Shoreham Drive to Steeles Ave. West

    Construction is set to run from July 12 through December 2021. When travelling through a construction zone, please exercise caution and observe all signs for your safety.

    For any emergency concerns throughout the construction period, please contact Security Services at 416-736-5470 ext. 33333.

Connect with Community

  • The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (REI) will be offering REDI series workshops and Anti-Racism REDI series workshops all summer long. All sessions will be offered virtually and are free and open to all York students. Attend at least three of the REDI workshops (90 minutes each) and complete the REDI Online Tutorial to receive a REDI Certificate of Completion!   • Challenging Organizational Structures. In this session, participants will examine how organizational cultures can perpetuate systemic disadvantages for individuals and groups, and then consider how engagement can create positive impacts and change within organizational cultures. Wednesday, July 14, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required.

  • Leadership Workshop: Ice Breaking & Team BuildingIf you are leading a group meeting for class, or a meeting for work, a club or a team, join this workshop to learn some team-building techniques. Friday, July 16, 1 to 2 p.m. Registration required.

  • AIESEC Club Showcase. Monday, July 19 1 to 2pm. Join the SC&LD Student Engagement Team, in collaboration with AIESEC at York, to find out more about the world’s largest youth-led organization and how you can globalize your university experience.

  • Health Education Workshop: Mastering Sleep During COVID-19. This workshop will look at the foundational aspects of sleep, how sleep deficiency can affect your well-being, and how you can build better sleeping habits. Wednesday, July 14, 2 to 3 p.m. Registration required.

  • Health & Wellness Student Needs Assessment Survey. York values your input. Complete this survey to help Student Counselling, Health & Well-being better understand how you want to access health and well-being services at York. Students who complete the survey will be entered to win one of 40 $50 gift cards! Survey Deadline: Thursday, August 5.

International Connections

  • York International Webinar: Prepare for York: York and You. Learn about what to expect during your time at York.   • Learning Skills Workshop: Presentation SkillsThis workshop is designed to help you master the challenges of effectively developing and delivering your academic work to others. Friday, July 16, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Workshop: Exam Prep. Join this session for tips on effectively preparing for all types of exams, including multiple choice, short answer, calculations, essay-style and more. Thursday, July 15, 11 a.m. to noon. Registration required.

Mature Student Support

  • Student-Parents' Get Together. If you're a student-parent, this session run by the Atkinson Centre for Mature & Part-time Students (ACMAPS), is a safe place to create new connections with other parents who are also students, with a sneak peek into new event ideas for the new term. Monday, July 19, 2 to 3 p.m. Registration required.

  • Mature Student Orientation: Part 1 - Starting School & How to Prepare. This introductory session will focus on starting off strong and learning what you need to know to be successful as a mature student learner at university. You will meet the ACMAPS staff and hear personal stories from current mature students, peer mentors and the members of the York University Mature Student Organization (YUMSO). Tuesday, July 20, 11 a.m. to noon. Registration required.
