Announcement

  • Pulse Secure VPN and Duo 2-Factor Authentication. As part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity, York’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) Pulse Secure will require two-factor authentication, Duo 2FA, as of July 29, 2021. For additional information about how to connect Pulse Secure with Duo 2FA, visit the information security website, and the FAQ page for additional support.

Careers Support

  • Student Job Opportunities: Join the Communications & Marketing Team in the Division of Students for Fall 2021 and Winter 2022. Available are various student-staff roles in digital marketing, graphic design, social media, web programming, and communications and marketing. Applications open Tuesday, July 27, 2021.

  • Careers Webinar: Interview Preparation. Approach your next interview or networking event with increased confidence. Learn how to positively influence the first impression and show your best self while answering employers’ questions. Thursday, July 29, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

Connect with Community

  • The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (REI) will be offering REDI series workshops and Anti-Racism REDI series workshops all summer long. All sessions will be offered virtually and are free and open to all York students. Attend at least three of the REDI workshops (90 minutes each) and complete the REDI Online Tutorial to receive a REDI Certificate of Completion!   • Recognizing Resilience in Communities. Attend this session, where you'll discuss community resilience in the face of disadvantage and hardship, and examine the ways barriers and discrimination shape our perspective of communities under duress. Tuesday, July 27, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Intervening on Racism. This highly interactive workshop will involve asking attendees to design strategies and practice tools to intervene when encountering racial discrimination, harassment and microaggressions. Please note: It is strongly recommended that participants have familiarity with these concepts and have attended at least one of the previous Anti-Racism Workshops before attending this session. Tuesday, August 10, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Registration required.

  • Mature Students Virtual Café Hour. Join this informal session led by peer mentors at the Atkinson Centre for Mature & Part-time Students (ACMAPS) and experience a warm and inviting virtual atmosphere where you can connect with other mature students. Thursday, July 29, 10 to 11 a.m. Drop-ins welcome!

  • Student Accessibility Services continues to meet with students virtually! Students already registered with Student Accessibility Services can connect with their Accessibility Counsellor by email or via sasinfo@yorku.ca. Check out the new Student Accessibility Services eClass site, which is full of supports and resources to support you.

  • Save the date! International Connections

  • York International Workshop: Study Permit Extension Workshop. In this workshop, York International's licensed immigration specialists will guide you through the process of creating an IRCC online account, discuss the documents required for a study permit extension and address frequently asked questions. Wednesday, August 4, 9 to 11 a.m. Registration required.

Health & Wellness

  • Health & Wellness Student Needs Assessment Survey. You speak, York listens. Fill out this survey from Student Counselling, Health & Well-being to have a say in the way health and well-being services are delivered to you and your peers. Students who complete the survey will be entered to win one of 40 $50 gift cards! Survey Deadline: Thursday, August 5.

Athletics & Recreation

  • Outdoor Fitness Classes. With the restrictions on outdoor classes being relaxed, Athletics & Recreation are bringing back morning fitness classes at Alumni field! Registration is required and only students with the free Limited Fitness Pass memberships can register. View membership information here. Note: Maximum 10 people per class, bring your own equipment, social distancing practices in effect.
