  • President’s Holiday Social. Kick off the holiday season by joining President Rhonda Lenton for cookies, cocoa, cider and other holiday festivities at the Keele and Glendon Campuses.

  • National Day of Remembrance Memorial Service. Attend the memorial ceremony to honour the 14 women who were murdered on Dec. 6, 1989, at École Polytechnique in Montreal. This event supports the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and shares the opportunity to reflect on how we can work together to end gender-based violence. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to noon. Registration required.

  • Cash Prizes in University-Wide Creative Writing Competition. Do you have unpublished and original writing? The Creative Writing Department, Faculty of LA&PS and The Office of the President want to read your work. Submitting your work gives you the chance to win a cash prize starting from $1,000. Competition results will be announced in Spring 2023. Submission deadline Friday, Jan. 13.

  • Ernest C. Mercier Lecture in Entrepreneurial Science with Molly Shoichet. Join Dr. Molly Shoichet, a University Professor at the University of Toronto who served as Ontario’s first Chief Scientist in 2018, for an interesting lecture on asking 'what if' in clinical testing. Mature Student Support

  • Drop-In Mentoring. Mentors are available to answer your academic questions and provide guidance to support you during your post-secondary journey. Sessions scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday, various times and mentors available. Next session begins Thursday, Dec. 1, 10 to 11 a.m. No registration required.

  • Exam Prep for Mature & Transfer Students. Learn the tips and strategies to use before, during and after exams to feel prepared and confident. This workshop will cover ways to answer different test questions and how to manage test nervousness. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Cultivating Resilience & Self Compassion for Stress Reduction. Learn about stress, how it affects well-being and how to develop realistic strategies to build and implement resilience. Look at practices for self-compassion and mindfulness that support stress-reduction. Tuesday Nov. 29, 3 to 4 p.m. Registration required.

International Student Support

  • Exchange Information Sessions. Interested in going on exchange, but don’t know where to start? Discuss exchange opportunities with Global Learning Coordinators. Various sessions available. Next session Thursday, Dec. 1, 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • International Student Holiday Party. It’s almost the end of the semester which means the holiday season is right around the corner. Enjoy festive games, food and more. Friday, Dec. 2, 3 to 5 p.m. Registration required.

  • Study in the U.S. with the Killam Fellowship Program. Are you interested in spending one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada or the United States? If so, you can have the chance to receive an award of $5,000 USD, and more. Application closes Thursday, Dec. 15.

Health & Wellness

  • Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (SCHW) offers support groups to show that you’re not alone, help you make friends on campus and develop trust with group members. Every session is led by SCHW facilitators who promote a safe and positive space for participants.
