  • Scott Library Elevator Refurbishment. To help improve the student experience in York’s spaces, work on the Scott Library elevators is scheduled to start between now until Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. This project will extend the functional life for the elevator, so upper floors will remain accessible to our community.

  • Vaccination Clinics. Stay well this winter and keep your vaccination status up to date by receiving a complete COVID-19 vaccine series, including third or fourth doses, and the flu vaccine.
    Keele Campus Tuesday, Dec. 6, and Tuesday, Dec. 13, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Square, East Bear Pit. Walk-in only.

  • University-Wide Creative Writing Competition. Submit your unpublished work for a chance to win a prize and be recognized by The Creative Writing Department, Faculty of LA&PS and The Office of the President. Competition results will be announced in Spring 2023. Submissions required by Friday, Jan. 13.

  • SSRP Website and Blog. The Student Systems Renewal Program (SSRP) has just launched a new website and blog to inform the York community of its new processes and technology systems that will work together to improve the student experience and help students gain better access to financial aid, awards, scholarships, and graduate funding. 

  • Student Accounts Lifecycle. If you will no longer be enrolled in courses at York, your student computing accounts will enter an expiry process. Ensure that you have downloaded and backed up your files onto your own personal devices.

  • VPS Meet & Greet. Take some time off on Keele Campus with Vice-Provost, Students Nona Robinson. Share questions, concerns and chat with Nona and all the people you meet. Next session Tuesday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m. to noon. Registration required.

Careers Support

  • Career Lounge. Ask job-related questions and get helpful guidance from career peer educators. Check out their weekly hybrid schedule for available dates Monday to Friday. No registration required.

International Student Support

  • Study in the U.S. with the Killam Fellowship Program. Are you interested in spending one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada or the United States? If so, you can have the chance to receive an award of $5,000 USD, and more. Application closes Thursday, Dec. 15.

  • Study in Germany with the Ontario/Baden-Württemberg program. Learn about the range of overseas exchange opportunities available to undergraduate and graduate students by joining the next information session on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. Registration required.

  • YorkU Summer Abroad. Explore a new culture, country and enhance your language skills – the world is your classroom. Learn required about how you can take courses in the summer term to earn credits that will count towards your degree. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. 242 York Lanes. And Friday, Dec. 9, 3 p.m. Registration required.

  • Gain a New Perspective with Global Internship Opportunities. Discover the range of experiences students can gain with field internships, research and administrative placements. Thursday, Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

Health & Wellness

  • Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (SCHW) offers support groups to show that you’re not alone, help you make friends on campus and develop trust with group members. Every session is led by SCHW facilitators who promote a safe and positive space for participants.
    Gay Men’s Support Group. This group supplies a safe space to discuss all issues related to the gay or queer men community. Every Wednesday, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.
