  • USING AN ANTI-RACIST, JUSTICE & EDI LENS TOWARDS AN ALTERNATE CAMPUS SECURITY SERVICES MODEL

    You’re invited to attend an education session on developing an alternate campus security services model. The session, part of the engagement process by York’s security services review team, will be led by a panel of experts with experience and knowledge of anti-racism, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, law enforcement and social policy, with lived experiences working with the York community and a desire to be allies in advancing this work.

    • Get WRIT Livestream Join the Writing Centre and Dr. Rich Shivener on YouTube at YU WRIT Live for livestreams about writing projects, resources, prompts and conversations with writers in the Writing Department and beyond. This week's topic is writing with/and emotions. Every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No registration is required.
    • Grammar On! A grammar workshop series open to all students wanting to better their relationship with grammar and start using it with confidence. Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. No registration is required.
    • Construct an Argument. Join this workshop to learn how to craft a thesis statement, articulate a central conclusion and establish its significance. Thursday, March 10, 12:30 to 2 p.m. Registration not required.

    Health Focus: Mental Health and International Students. Join York's internationally educated nursing students as they answer your questions about mental health and wellness with a Canadian mental health professional. Thursday, March 10, 11 a.m. Registration required.

    • Alumnight - Careers in Neuroscience Networking Event. Learn about this growing discipline, career paths and experiences of alumni currently in the field. This event is open to all York students. Friday, March 11, 4 to 6 p.m. Registration required.
    • Choosing a Major: For Undeclared Major Students. Understand the factors that come into play when making informed academic decisions, including your own thoughts and feelings regarding choosing a major. Thursday, March 10, 2 to 3 p.m. Register via  Experience York.
    • Discovering Careers as an International Student. Join this session to hear first-hand from LA&PS international student alumni on how they developed contacts in the field and grew their network! Thursday, March 10, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required.
    • Career Conversations: Discovering Careers in the Public Sector. Network with accomplished professionals currently working in the public sector and hear great insights and tips about career options, job search and recruitment. Thursday, March 10, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register through Experience York.

Mature Student Support

  • Student-Parents' Get Together. Create new connections with other parents (who are also students) and learn about new events during this drop-in session, hosted by our mature student peer mentor. Wednesday, March 9, 2 to 3 p.m. Registration not required.

    Virtual Café Hour - Mature Student Connect. Meet a mature student peer mentor and connect with other mature students on campus to create a sense of belonging and engagement. Thursday, March 10, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration not required.

  • The Tait McKenzie Centre is open! Reservations for most programs are no longer required, except for the Recreational “Drop-in” Programs. Check out the Athletics and Recreation website for more information on entry and usage protocols.

    • UIT’s new ticketing system is now live! York’s ticketing system has been successfully upgraded. These changes will provide a more modern, secure and efficient ticketing system. This upgrade will not impact how tickets are submitted.
    • Robert J. Tiffin Student Leadership Award. If you know someone who is currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies and exhibits leadership, dedication, integrity, enthusiasm, and the pursuit of excellence through their endeavors, you can nominate them for this award! The nomination deadline is Sunday, March 13.
