  • Cashless Parking Starting May 1. Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit have been added as payment options at the pay stations. Commencing May 1, cash will not be accepted at the pay stations or at the Parking Services office. As an alternative, you can load cash onto your YU-card, to pay for parking at pay stations using YU-card Flex dollars. Contactless payments are now available through HONK Mobile. Instructions for purchasing and using the Daily Multi-Pack are available on the Parking Services website.

Learning Skills

    • Steps to Success: Making the Most out of Your University Experience. This workshop provides you with insight on how to be successful in academics and personal and professional development. You will be able to recognize your personal interests and find ways to utilize them in your university experience. Wednesday, April 27, 2 to 3 p.m. Registration required.
    • Understanding Your Academic Decision Workshop. This workshop will help you learn more about what an academic decision is, the different types of decisions, accessing your decisions, and what you can do as a student if you receive a negative decision.     • Intramural Awards Banquet. Athletics and Recreation is hosting the 56th Annual Intramural Banquet on the @yorkuintramurals Instagram page! Join this event to celebrate this year's tournaments, recognize our winners, and outstanding staff! Thursday, April 28, 7 p.m. Registration not required.
    • The PWSA's Fourth Annual Undergraduate Symposium. The Professional Writing Students' Association's (PWSA) Symposium showcases multimodal work by undergraduate students. This year's theme is Metanoia--the rising from regret to transformation. Attend this event to cheer on your fellow students and listen to some extraordinary presentations.     • Media Arts Spring Showcase. Join the Annual Media Arts Spring Showcase, featuring student works from every year of the Media Arts BFA program, from interactive narratives, 360VR dome projections, animations, and short films. Fourth-year graduating students will talk about their works at 5 p.m., followed by an exhibition tour and premiere screening. Monday, April 25 to Friday, April 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. BetaSpace – Goldfarb Centre for the Arts (GCFA) 024-026 (basement). Registration required.
    • Women & Girls Leadership and Sport Conference. Athletics & Recreation announces the third annual Women and Girls Leadership and Sport Conference presented by Adidas. This year, speakers will present on the theme of “Leadership Communication: Language, Crucial Conversations and Using Your Voice.” Friday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for students.     • Personality and Career Choice Webinar. Are you wondering how your personality type may influence your career choices? This webinar will provide you with an introduction to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), one of the most widely used assessment tools, and you will discover how learning about your personality type can help guide you with your career decision making.     • Racialized Students Support Group: Join Student Counselling, Health, & Well-being for its monthly Racialized Student Support Group drop-in meeting. This group offers a safe space where BIPOC students can reflect on their identities, experiences, and challenges to build community. Hosted by racialized facilitators, a focus of the group will be placed on processing and healing from racial trauma. To join this Zoom session, email dbala@yorku.ca. Announcement

    • Google Apps Storage Quota. In August 2022, York University will be implementing a combined Google Drive and Gmail storage limit of 50GB for each student Google account. This storage limit comes as an update to Google’s storage policy for educational institutions. Most students will be unaffected by the change. Visit UIT’s website for more information and how you can check your current storage usage.
    • Use Modern Authentication for Microsoft 365. Having trouble accessing emails on your desktop Outlook or Thunderbird? You might be using an outdated user authentication method. Since March 2022, York has switched to Modern Authentication for all Microsoft 365 applications. Visit the YU Office webpage for a detailed guide on accessing Mail in Microsoft Office 365, downloading the Outlook Desktop client, as well as configuration setting for IMAP clients.
