  • Rapid testing program. York is offering at-home rapid antigen testing kits for all community members. Tests can be picked up at various locations at scheduled times on the Keele (YU Test Clinic, York International, Bennett Centre for Student Services and the Vari Hall Rotunda) and Glendon (Office of Student Affairs) campuses. Please note that due to limited supplies of rapid antigen tests, there is a limit of one package per community member. For pick-up details, visit the Rapid Antigen Testing Program webpage.

  • ACADEMICS & LEARNING SKILLS

    • Strategies to Raise Your GPA. This workshop session will provide students with information about what a GPA is, how to calculate it, the different strategies to raise your GPA, and other tips and tools to be successful! Wednesday, May 18, 1 to 2 p.m. Registration required. This workshop is also happening on May 19, 4 to 5 p.m.
    • Construct an Argument. Learn how to articulate a central conclusion, establish its significance and craft a thesis statement. Tuesday, May 24, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration required.
    • Reading and Notetaking. Learn more effective reading and note-taking techniques to help you stay on top of course work. Wednesday, May 18, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.
    • Learning Power. This workshop will help students "learn how to learn," explore learning preferences, and introduce research-supported learning strategies. Thursday, May 19, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Registration required.
    • Time Management. Learn practical, personalized approaches to managing your time. Tuesday, May 24, noon to 1 p.m. Registration required.

    • Virtual Career Fair - Spring 2022. Meet employers who are looking to hire York students for a variety of opportunities, including part-time, summer, internship, and full-time positions after graduation. Thursday, May 19, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Register through Experience York.
    • Preparing for Career Fair Success: Job Search & Networking Strategies. Want to be more effective in getting the job you want? Find out how to uncover and create career opportunities by learning how employers fill job openings. Wednesday, May 18, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Register through Experience York.
    • IBM Campus Recruitment Event – Fall 2022 Co-op Opportunities. Learn about the hiring process and how to make your resume stand out. This session will cover resume-writing best practices, what makes an ideal candidate for IBM and an opportunity for questions. Tuesday, May 24, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.
    • LA&PS Internship Information Session. Before applying to the LA&PS Internship Program, students must attend a mandatory information session. This recurring session provides an overview of the program, academic eligibility requirements, application and job search process, program expectations and non-refundable fees. Friday, May 20, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register through Experience York.
    • Internship Program Drop-In for Students. This drop-in session is an informal opportunity for LA&PS students interested in internships to speak with an internship program team member and ask any specific questions. Wednesday, May 18, noon to 1 p.m. Register through Experience York.

ICYMI

  • Appointment of new Dean, Faculty of Health. Dr. David Peters will join York as the Dean, Faculty of Health for a five-year term, effective January 1, 2023. Dr. Peters comes from Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. He holds an MD from the University of Manitoba and a doctorate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health.
