Pride Month. York celebrates and shows support to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by learning about the history, culture and contributions that they have made to Canadian society. The York community must continue to stand against homophobia and all forms of discrimination and racism to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging. - Make Your Own Pride Bracelet. Celebrate, decorate and build your own bracelet in support of Pride, while watching episodes of TV shows that highlight the 2SLGBTQIA+ community! Materials will be provided along with some delicious snacks. Wednesday, June 15, 1 to 3 p.m. Vari Hall 1005. Registration required.
- Issues and Impacts of Misogynoir (Respect, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Series). Attend this interactive session to discuss the issue of misogynoir. Learn how sexism and racism manifest in Black women’s lives to create intersecting forms of oppression, explore the detrimental impacts of internalized racism, and engage in a discussion about healing and self-care. Thursday, June 16, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration required.
- In recognition of Pride month, this session is part of the Summer 2022 REDI mini-series on Gender & Sexuality Inclusion. Attend three REDI sessions and an online REDI tutorial to be eligible for a REDI Certificate.
- Exploring Gender: Finding Self, Community, and Support During Pride. Learn about gender exploration, access gender affirming care and find out how to connect with other trans and non-binary community members during Pride. Monday, June 20, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. To register, email schw@yorku.ca.

2022 National Indigenous History Month. June 1 marked the start of Indigenous History Month, a time when we acknowledge Indigenous Peoples – their history, cultures, and many contributions and achievements. Learn about and engage with Indigenous knowledges, languages, practices and ways of being, and their importance to both York and Canadian society more broadly.
