Pride Month. York celebrates and shows support to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by learning about the history, culture, and contributions that they have made to Canadian society. The York community must continue to stand against homophobia and all forms of discrimination and racism to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging. - Scholars’ Hub @ Home - Pandemic possibilities: Sexuality, gender and youth in the time of COVID-19. Explore how the experience of living with and through the pandemic has shaped young people’s sense of their genders and sexualities. Wednesday, June 8, noon to 1 p.m. Registration required.
- Creating and Maintaining Positive Space - Respect, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI) Workshop. This session will explore gender and sexual diversity, as well as homophobia and transphobia specific to the campus experience. Learn about using inclusive language, being a supportive ally, campus resources, and creating safer spaces on campus for gender and sexually diverse members of the York community.

- Addressing and Responding to Sexual Harassment (REDI). Gain a general understanding of why sexual harassment continues to be pervasive in our society, during this interactive session. Tuesday, June 14, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Register through YU-Learn.
In recognition of Pride month, these sessions are part of REI’s Summer REDI Mini-Series on Gender and Sexuality Inclusion. Attend three REDI sessions and an online REDI tutorial to be eligible for a REDI Certificate.

2022 National Indigenous History Month. June 1 marked the start of Indigenous History Month, a time when we acknowledge Indigenous Peoples – their history, cultures, and many contributions and achievements. Learn about and engage with Indigenous knowledges, languages, practices and ways of being, and their importance to both York and Canadian society more broadly.
