FYI

  • Google Apps at York has a new 50 GB storage limit. Accounts over the 50 GB limit will have limited access and ability to send and receive emails. Use Google Takeout to export and back up your data regularly.

  • Student Accounts Lifecycle. If you will no longer be enrolled in courses at York, your student computing accounts will enter an expiry process. Ensure that you have downloaded and backed up your files onto your own personal devices. For more information, visit the UIT website.

  • The Office of the University Registrar’s (OUR) Student Advisory Committee (SAC) applications are now open! Apply now for the SAC, which brings together students with diverse backgrounds and experiences to share their thoughts on OUR projects, policies and initiatives. Build your leadership skills, community connections and be a positive force for strengthening your student services. Application Deadline: Friday, Sept. 30.

Get Involved

  • Register for the Rights, Equity, Diversity, Decolonization & Inclusion (REDDI) workshop series starting Thursday, September 22. By completing any Core Session and any two REDDI sessions, participants can earn a REDDI Certificate of Completion. Read more about earning the REDDI Certificate and Mini-Series Certificates.

  • First Workshop: The Impacts and Effects of Microaggressions in the Post-Secondary Education Environment. Learn about the reality and pervasiveness of microaggressions within the context of post-secondary institutions. Thursday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register through YU Learn.

2SLGBTQIA+ Student Support

  • 2SLGBTQIA+ Support Group. Student Counselling, Health and Well-being (SCHW) offers a bi-weekly, drop-in support group for the 2SLGBTQIA+ student community at York. Group members are encouraged to lead the conversation and have agency over deciding what they would like discussed on any given week. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1 to 2 p.m.

  • Trans and Non-Binary Support Group. Connect with the Trans and Non-Binary Support Group to meet other students and navigate gender in a relaxed and safe space. Ask questions, just listen in or chat and make some new friends! Tuesday, Sept. 27, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

  • Sensoria 2022: The Art and Science of Our Senses Exhibition. Explore this exhibition and symposium that engages multi-sensory research that revitalizes our sensory connections to our surroundings, through and despite technological tools, networks and latencies. The exhibition and symposium bridges LAZNIA Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA) in Gdansk, Poland and Sensorium: Centre for Digital Arts & Technology at York.   • Car Free Day. The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) at York are encouraging motorists to give up their vehicles for a day. Students will start with a Critical Mass this day around York and a Bike Ride from the Bergeron Centre around the Keele Campus Neighbourhood. Please note in the registration form if you need a bike to be part of this event. Thursday, Sept. 22, 4 to 6 p.m. Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence. Registration required.
