Welcome Back

    • The winter 2023 term officially began on Monday, January 9.
       
    • Explore the Start Strong website to find helpful information about how to prepare for the winter term. Find helpful tips and resources by navigating the start of class, coming to campus and FAQs pages on this helpful website made for you. 
       
    • Undergraduate course enrolment fees. Payments for full year and winter courses are due Tuesday, January 10
       
    • Add/Drop Deadlines. The last date to add a course without the permission of an instructor is Sunday, January 22. Please note that the last date to add a course with the permission of an instructor is Monday, February 6.

  • Helpful Resources
    • My Online Services. Complete upcoming tasks such as paying term fees, graduation information and a variety of other resources to stay ahead this winter term. 
       
    • Financial Deadline Information. If you need to drop a course after the beginning of the term, there may be a financial penalty. Stay informed by checking the information on the refund tables page.  
       
    • Academic Advising. Chat with advisors who can help you make informed decisions about your degree options and the next steps in your academic career.

    • University-Wide Creative Writing Competition. Submit your unpublished work and get the opportunity to win a prize and be recognized by The Creative Writing Department, Faculty of LA&PS and The Office of the President. Submissions required by Friday, January 13. Competition results will be announced in the spring.  
       
    • Residence Life is Hiring. Check out how to get involved through jobs and volunteer opportunities around campus. Application period ends Sunday, January 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET

    • Study Strategies that Work. Discover what is happening within our brains while we learn and explore study strategies to help you retain information. Friday, January 13, 1 to 2 p.m. Registration required.

    • Speed Painting: Fireworks. Paint fireworks, while learning the basics of painting, to celebrate the new year in this self-care-oriented workshop. Friday, January 13, 4 to 7 p.m. Stong College Room 109. Registration required. 
       
    • Reading & Note-Taking. Evolve your academic reading and notetaking techniques to stay on top of your coursework. Thursday, January 12, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.  
       
    • Motivation & Procrastination. Learn how to overcome procrastination and find motivation to help you achieve your goals. Monday, January 16, 11 a.m. to noon. Registration required.
