Announcement

  • Well-being Week: Caring for your mental health. Mental health can impact everything from your physical well-being to your academic success. Join in on a pan-University initiative where you'll learn about valuable resources, self-care practices and more, while we destigmatize mental health issues together. Learn more about the events taking place across campus, beginning Monday, January 16.

  • Indoor masking, vaccination recommended as the winter term begins. It’s important to keep yourself and others safe by following public health guidelines. Masking indoors, and keeping vaccinations up to date, is strongly encouraged.

ICYMI

  • Vending machines at Keele and Glendon Campuses. If you need a level 3 or N95 mask, they are available for purchase on campus at select locations.

  • Vaccine clinics. Stay well this winter and keep your vaccination status up to date by receiving a complete COVID-19 vaccine series, including third or fourth doses, and the flu vaccine.   • Countdown to Congress Launch Event. Join us for a sneak peak of Congress 2023, including a preview of live musical and Indigenous dance performances to be featured in York’s Arts@Congress programming. International Student Support

  • York University UHIP. Looking for information about UHIP? First, check your YorkU email! If you don’t see anything in your @my.yorku.ca inbox, explore the UHIP website for information on enrollment for new incoming international students in the winter term.   • Spend your Summer Abroad. Take courses in L.A., Edinburgh or Prague this Summer from May to August and earn credits that will count toward your degree. Learn about a new culture and country, and develop language skills and discover something entirely new – the world is your classroom!

  • Get your Social Insurance Number on Campus. Service Canada will offer on-campus Social Insurance Number transactions for international students who have valid Study Permits.  Wednesday, January 18 at 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration. This is the Year of the Rabbit, come together to celebrate this beautiful moment and respect one another's culture.   • Deadline for Academic Exchange. The deadline to study abroad is coming up. Study at one of York’s global partners, travel to a different country, earn credits towards your degree and learn about your academic field from a new perspective. Deadline to apply is Monday, January 23.

  • Study in Hong Kong this summer. Do you want to conduct a research project with a Chinese University of Hong Kong faculty member for eight weeks, while living and experiencing Hong Kong?   • Teaching Kitchen Series. Learn how to cook lentil tacos, with a cilantro-lime slaw, during the first series of free cooking classes with a resident dietician and chef on campus.
