Black History Month

  • Scholars’ Hub @ Home: Black Feminism: critical thinking from a Cameroonian perspective. Listen and learn about the experiences and voices of African women living in rural areas, which remain largely invisible within knowledge production and validation.   • Negotiation Tips for Leaders. Examine what it means to be a good negotiator and the principles around negotiation and problem-solving. Learn how to build a consensus on a team, all while creating great relationships. Monday, February 27, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required.

  • Celebrate While We Educate. Learn about the rich culture of the various branches of the Black community, while addressing stereotypes and misconceptions. Various dates available until Tuesday, February 28. Registration required.

Health & Wellness

  • Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (SCHW) offers several support groups to show you that you are not alone, help you make new friends on campus and build trust and support with group members. Every session is led by SCHW facilitators who promote a safe and positive space for participants. 
     
    Upcoming support groups include: 
    Gay Men’s Support Group. Every Wednesday, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Registration required.

  • Health Education & Promotion under SCHW continues to host free, peer-led virtual and in-person workshops/events supplying students with the skills to foster balanced and sustainable choices regarding their health. They cover several topics including mental health, physical health and sleep, nutrition, self-care and self-compassion, substance use and healthy relationships and boundaries.

Get Involved

  • Summer Programs information session.  Explore a new city or country, experience a different culture, and earn credits towards their degree between May and August. Wednesday, February 22, 3 to 4 p.m. Registration required.
