  • Scott Library Elevator Refurbishment. Scott Library elevator's refurbishment has been extended until Friday, March 3. While the elevator is out of service, escalators and stairs are available.

  • Markham Community Skate Day. Grab your skates and head over to the Markham Civic Centre Outdoor Ice Rink to enjoy skating, treats and more at the annual event.   • “Reckonings and Re-Imaginings”: Thinking with Black Studies in the Humanities.   • Word, Sound, Power: Black Artistic Expression. Enjoy an evening of spectacular performances showcasing Black artistic expression. This event features musical performances, including the R&B Ensemble, under the direction of Mike Cado, and the York University Gospel Choir, under the direction of Karen Burke, as well as Spoken Word artists.   • Acknowledging and Addressing Racism. Learn how to recognize racism, how it can manifest and what its impacts are. Participants will learn about strategies to address barriers to inclusive spaces and become familiar with relevant tools, policies and legislation within the York context.   • Black Ice at York U: A Community Screening and Q&A. This documentary examines the history of anti-black racism in hockey.   • Black Inclusion: Historic and Current Efforts to Dismantle Anti-Black Racism. This session will follow the birth and development of anti-Black racism, globally and locally, and the historic and ongoing efforts to dismantle it. Through case-studies and scenarios, participants will be offered tools and examples of how to respond to anti-Black racism in effective and sustainable ways. Health & Wellness

  • Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (SCHW) offers several support groups to show you that you are not alone, help you make new friends on campus and develop feelings of trust and support with group members. Every session is led by SCHW facilitators who promote a safe and positive space for participants.

  • Health Education & Promotion under SCHW continues to host several free, peer-led virtual and in-person workshops/events supplying students with the skills to foster balanced and sustainable choices regarding their health. They cover several topics including mental health, physical health and sleep, nutrition, self-care and self-compassion, substance use and healthy relationships and boundaries.
